Dobermans

Pros:
  1. Loyal and loving.
  2. Alert.
  3. Moderately active, some may be hyper-active.
  4. Don't shed excessively and easy to groom.
  5. Great deterrants for criminals.
  6. Great with kids.
  7. Smart and learns commands quickly.
  8. Loves to be with their people.
  9. Perfect for people who wants a clingy dog.
  10. They are goofy. No less.
  11. Highly-trainable.
  12. Will keep solicitors away.

Cons:
  1. Very smart, they will outsmart you if you are not prepared. Can be very stubborn.
  2. They need to be properly socialized to avoid over-protectiveness. You also need to be very consistent.
  3. You constantly have to defend the breed from idiots that still believe they are vicious.
  4. If not well socialized to cats and or other animals, their in-born prey-drive will be inevitably uncontrollable in the future.
  5. Loud barking may disturb next door neighbors.

Other thoughts:

[Depending on how you look at it]
  1. Clingyness - they DO NOT like to be left alone. This is not an independent breed.
  2. MAY or MAY NOT do well with strangers.
  3. They will accept anyone that you invite into your home, but they may be wary of anyone that you are not friendly with.
